How to Apply

REGISTRATION: Next class will be Fall 2010. To conserve paper, fill out and submit the application online here at our website. Registration is available until the class is full. Master Recycler class limited to 30 participants. Acceptance made on “first come first serve” basis, as completed applications are received. However, in order to encourage region-wide participation, five (5) spots are initially reserved for residents of communities other than The Dalles and Hood River.

AUDIT OPTION: Folks who would like to attend the classes but are unable to commit to the 30 hour “payback” requirement may pay $50 to audit the class (fee will partially cover costs of instruction time and materials). Audit participation will be limited to five (5) persons from Wasco, Sherman and Hood River counties. Make check out to TriCounty Hazardous Waste & Recycling Program. Scholarships are available upon request.

OUT-OF-AREA RESIDENTS: Residents of counties other than Wasco, Sherman and Hood River are welcome to apply for the Master Recycler program. However, this program is primarily paid for by a surcharge on solid waste going to the Northern Wasco County Landfill from Wasco, Hood River and Sherman counties; therefore, all out-of-area residents will be automatically placed on a waiting list for available class openings after registrations received from area residents. A fee of $50 will be charged to out-of-area residents to partially cover costs of instruction time and materials.

FUTURE CLASSES: Based upon response, the Master Recycler class may be offered twice a year, so if unable to participate at this time, watch for the next round of classes.
