(A) Put these items together in your blue bin:

 

No

(B) Keep these items separate:

     
  • Newspapers, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, phone books
  • Office paper, colored paper, note pads, letters, paper bags
  • Shredded paper in a paper bag (less mess)
  • Boxes, such as tissue, shoe, cookie, cereal and cracker style boxes (liner removed)
  • Cardboard tubes
  • Plastic bottles with a neck (rinse)...like beverages, milk jugs, shampoo, detergent, cleansers. Please remove lids.
  • Plastic tubs 6 oz. to 5 gallons in size (cleaned)...like dairy products, cat litter, detergent, lids removed
  • Plant containers 4 inches and larger (cleaned)
  • Aluminum cans and tin cans (rinsed)
  • Clean aluminum foil
  • Empty aerosol cans (remove plastic caps)
  • Gabletop cartons, such that milk and juice come in
  • Aseptic shelf-stable cartons 

 
 
  • Glass bottles and jars (rinse, put metal lids in blue recycle bin). Put glass bottles and jars in a separate bucket or container.
  • Corrugated cardboard boxes (flattened). Put these next to or underneath your blue bins.
  • Motor oil (put in an opaque 1 gallon milk jug with a lid and place next to your curbside garbage and recycling)
 
Not accepted in curbside recycling:
 
  • Clear “clamshell” containers

     

     

Where can I recycle in Sherman County?
 

You can take your recycling to one of these Self Haul Recyling Depot locations:
Grass Valley (Mondays-Tuesdays 1-3 pm) 
Moro (2nd Fridays & Saturdays, 9 am-4:30 pm) 
Wasco (3rd Fridays & Saturdays, 9 am-4:30 pm) 
Rufus (4th Fridays and Saturdays, 9 am-4:30 pm)
